Armchair Presentation: Author Carey Henry Keefe
Wednesday, September 3rd
Tuckahoe Clubhouse at 4:00 p.m.
Author Carey Henry Keefe discusses her book, A Tide of Dreams: the Untold Backstory of Coaches Paul “Bear" Bryant, Carney Leslie and Frank Moseley.
Carey Henry Keefe is a speaker and author dedicated to uncovering the overlooked stories behind great legacies. In her debut book, A Tide of Dreams, she tells the story of her grandfather—the right-hand man to legendary football coach Paul "Bear" Bryant - and the remarkable story of how, after the bombing of Pearl Harbor, the Navy turned to the game of football and football coaches, instead of generals, to train the next generation of aviators.
Carey speaks to audiences around the country about this almost forgotten story about how these coaches, known as "90 Day Wonders", and the game of football, helped win WWII. Using film footage pulled from forgotten archives highlighting the program discovered during her research, this presentation is not to be missed.
