Monthly Coffee and Camaraderie - Making Informed Decisions

  • Tuckahoe Clubhouse (map)

Understanding Care Choices for Your Loved Ones

When is the right time to seek in-home care for yourself or someone you love? What are the signs to look for? What is the difference between personal care and companion care? Where can you find qualified caregivers? How much do their services cost and how do they compare with the costs of an assisted living facility?

These are a few of the questions that will be addressed by a panel of Senior Help Desk volunteers who will discuss various aspects of needing in-home care and when it might be desirable to seek an assisted living residential facility. Topics that will be discussed include safety in the home, signs when one needs more help with care, the difference between companion care and personal care, respite care, when in-home care might not be enough, and the costs of both in-home care and assisted living facility care.

Please bring your own questions and concerns to what promises to be a valuable and informative meeting. Join us at 10 a.m. at Tuckahoe on Wednesday February 18 for some socializing followed by the panel discussion.
